Practical Chef

Dinner, depending on the decade or your background this one word has a myriad of meanings. Most of my childhood was spent consuming canned vegetables and Stouffer's salusbury steak. Not that it was for lack of trying on my mom's part. However, when your a single mom working overtime in a hot, dirty factory all day. She did what she could to ensure we at least ate something.

Now, we have the ability to discover new food every day. Just Google a food and thousands of options appear.

Here is one example of a healthy, fast and tasty dish we use in my home. I call it Herb Rubbed Salmon with Roasted Broccoli. Start to finish is 30 to 35 minutes. The same time you would use cooking a frozen entree.

Herb Salmon with Roasted Broccoli:

1 filet of salmon (approx. 1 lb)
1 bottle McCormick's Perfect Pinch
   Lemon and Herb Seasoning
1/2 lb broccoli (stem and crown)
salt, pepper, olive oil
